Susan's Canine Services talks about being careful!
February 15, 2015
It was a beautiful day today, and I took the dog's on a walk at the beach on Cresent Beach. Now every dog walking there should be on a leash, and I would say 98% of the owners had there dog on a leash.
But there is always someone for some reason feels the need that they can go above the rules and have their dog off leash. I never understand this type of person guess its the same people that feel they can tex and drive they are above the rules. So sad both are safety reasons, not put there for just having rules.
When we were out today there was a guy with his dog off leash , kind of looking proud of it maybe a
control thing . But then he took a big dog cookie out of his pocket gave it to his dog. The dog of course took it (dog was a smaller dog) the dog crunch on the cookie it went into a bunch of pieces all over the sidewalk. Now what is wrong with this situation? First of all the dog is off leash, second the cookie is all over the place , so if another dog jumps in and trys to get one of those pieces of broken cookie a fight could break out! Especilly if the other dog was an off leash dog , he could be very food orienteed and go right for the food.
Please look beyond what you are doing and look at the safety of your dog, a dog should be on a leash for saftey reason they are like little children and they may follow the rules but they can slip up.
And for heaven sake don't have pieces of biscuit all over the place, were there are a number of dog's and it could lead to a scrap as to who gets what!!!
