Brushing your Dog
December 16, 2014
Often I have people bring their dog into me and I find alot of matts. When I bring it to the owners attention , their response is " I have been brushing him every other day " which I am sure they have.
My next question to them would be are you just using a pin brush and nine times out of ten the answer will be yes. What you need to do is use the pin brush just to kind of loosen up the fur then go
over the entire coat with a steel comb. The pin brush only really does the top surface and gives you
the inpression that there is no knots, if you use the steel comb it gets right into the fur and will help you find the knots . So if you do this method then you won't miss knots which will end up becoming one big matt if left.
